This issue of the journal examines some of the more significant themes and tropes of contemporary art and popular culture in the Asia-Pacific Rim. Our main objective is to look at recent important aesthetic, cultural, and sociocultural developments in this area of the world, particularly as they are manifested in recent art exhibitions, films, and cultural events in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand, and the United States.
